Payments and billing policy
Last updated 15 September 2026. This explains how Docutrades subscriptions are billed, what happens with your card, and how to change or cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd; we never see or store your full card number.
1. Plans and prices
- Starter: £99 a month, 20 reports a calendar month, 1 user.
- Team: £249 a month, 100 reports a calendar month, 5 users.
- Enterprise: agreed in writing and invoiced directly.
Prices are in pounds sterling and exclude VAT, which is added at the current UK rate.
2. Free trial
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial that includes 5 reports. A card is taken at sign-up but not charged during the trial. When the trial ends the plan you chose starts automatically and your card is charged. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
3. Extra reports
We never block you mid-job. Reports over your monthly allowance are charged at £5 each and appear as separate lines on your next monthly invoice. Regenerating a report you have already made is free.
4. Billing cycle and invoices
Subscriptions renew monthly on the date your paid plan started. Stripe emails a receipt for every payment and you can download invoices any time from Settings → Billing → Manage billing.
5. Changing plan, updating your card, cancelling
All of this is done in the billing portal (Settings → Billing → Manage billing). Upgrades take effect immediately with the difference charged pro rata. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep full access until then.
6. Failed payments
If a payment fails Stripe retries it over the following days and emails you. While that happens you keep full access. If every retry fails the account becomes read-only: you can still view and download every report you have made, but cannot generate new ones until the outstanding invoice is paid in the portal.
7. Refunds
Monthly fees are not refunded for part-used months. If you believe you have been charged in error, email info@docutrades.com within 14 days and we will put it right. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
8. After cancellation
Your reports stay downloadable for 90 days after your subscription ends, then your data is deleted. You can export everything before then.
9. Deposit links on reports
Team subscribers can add a “Pay deposit” link to their reports. That link goes to the subscriber’s own payment provider. Docutrades is not a party to those payments and does not hold the funds.
